The Key to Kindness is You
This is the fourteenth year we are celebrating "Random Acts of Kindness" month at OCS during February. Students are given the opportunity to understand and develop positive character traits including kindness, citizenship, respect, responsibility, courage, honesty and trustworthiness. The staff encourages students to act in a caring way towards each other and all members of our school community.
Students, grade K-4 can earn an on-the-spot "Get Caught Being Kind" award. These are displayed on the classroom doors. Students will also write Kindness Poetry to be entered in the NJ State Fine Arts Competition. First place winners will be awarded $10.00 gift cards for books at Barnes and Noble. These winners will also be invited to a Kindness Celebration Tea Party in the spring. We are grateful to the PTO for funding these awards.
